Tête de femme by Picasso is a 12 m high monumental replica of the model created by the artist in 1954, set up at Flaine, Haute-Savoie, at 1660 m:

This project had a nine-year history. In co-operation with the Centre Pompidou in Paris, material tests were conducted over a number of years to ensure that the best and most suitable paints were used. With huge variations in temperature throughout the year, aggressive UV radiation, high winds and abrasive sleet in winter, the materials had to withstand extremely high demands. Lascaux products were up to the task.
